About the Production:
"Next to Normal" is a groundbreaking rock musical that explores the impact of mental illness on a suburban family. Especially looking to cast a full company of BIPOC performers. With a powerful score and a deeply moving storyline, this Pulitzer Prize-winning show delves into themes of love, loss, and the complexities of the human mind.

Roles Available:
1. Diana Goodman - (Lead) A mother struggling with bipolar disorder. Mid to late 30’s
2. Dan Goodman - (Lead) Diana's husband, desperately trying to hold his family together. Mid to late 30’s
3. Natalie Goodman - (Supporting) Diana and Dan's teenage daughter, dealing with her own emotional turmoil. Looking for a 16-19 year old
4. Gabe Goodman - (Supporting) Diana and Dan's son, who appears as a manifestation of Diana's mental illness. Looking for a 17-22 year old
5. Henry - (Supporting) Natalie's classmate and love interest.
6. Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine - (Supporting) Diana's psychiatrists. late 20’s to 50’s Male or Female Character

Audition Requirements:  
- Prepare a contemporary musical theater song that showcases your vocal range and acting abilities.
- Bring a backing tape and be prepared to sing from he show

A headshot and resume are recommended but not required.

Important Notes: 
- All ethnicities and genders are encouraged to audition, especially looking to cast a full cast BIPOC performers. This show will be double cast.
- Rehearsals will begin around May 6th and will generally be held Mondays thru Thursdays starting at 7:15.
Performances are scheduled to run from June 29- July 21st, with 3 performances per week Friday and Saturday at 8 and Sunday’s at 7pm
